End of Life Planner

Every time my husband and I traveled without our daughter we used to leave our computer passwords and bank account information written on a sticky note. We were not thinking about dying, of course, just about an emergency. But then we started reflecting on what she would actually do (she was 17 at the time) if something terrible would happen.

How long would it take for her to get everything together? Would she know who to notify? We live alone in another country and she wouldn’t have the support network we had in Mexico.

So, we started sharing a bit of responsibilities and relevant information with her: how to pay the bills, where the will and other important documents were. I’m not sure if she still remembers that.

Then, my father passed away in 2019; he didn’t have a will. To this day (in 2026) we haven’t finished the legal process to claim the inheritance. A few years later my father in law passed away, too. My husband went to Mexico and everything was done and finished in a month, as he not only had a will, he had taken the time to organize and file every piece of paper that was relevant to the inheritance, real estate and such, and he even met with us a year before and shared his last wishes. That’s when I realized that there was a better way to say goodbye than what I (and my family) had been doing.

I also realized that my daughter deserved more than just a sticky note.

Why do you need an End of Life planner?

One thing successful people have in common is knowing how to plan. We plan our lives, our days, our years, our careers, our businesses, and many other things because we don’t want to leave things to chance. Our last days should not be an exception. The only thing we don’t know is the exact date, but it is a common destination that we are all going to reach.

Thinking about our final days has a great impact on our lives, because it confronts us with the probable future that we will have. It puts things into perspective and invites us to think about what we have to do to achieve our goals. This helps us increase our quality of life.

I have created three versions: English, Bilingual (Eng/Spa) and Spanish (for women and men, respectively, and even another one for younger adults who may need a bit more context of this process)

English
Bilingual (Eng/Spa)
Spanish – Women
Spanish – Men

We also have a cute version with an axolotl for people who don’t like the Catrines theme.

You can buy them on Amazon and they will print it and send it to you.
